This week was an exploration of light and remembrance. Sharing the story of Diwali together, creating colourful clay diyas and drawing rangoli patterns. We shared the excitement of Bonfire night, becoming fireworks in the garden, fizzing and popping, shooting through the sky. Fireworks were created in sparkly paint and rockets built out of playdough and shapes. Edible sparklers were made with delight and excitement, chocolate was stirred and sprinkles added. Bonfires were made in the garden, the children reminding us of how to stay safe as we toasted our imaginary marshmallows and play drank our muddy hot chocolate. We paused on the 11th for remembrance, listening to stories, making poppy biscuits and creating our own giant garden poppy from the beautiful garden leaves as they fell in the wind.
